Factors That Affect Party Bus Rental Costs
Knowing the factors that affect the costs of party bus rentals will help you make an informed decision when booking with a limo company near you. Whether you’re planning for a wedding, prom, or any other special event, here are the party bus cost factors to consider:
1. The Size of the Party Bus
There are multiple party buses to choose from that are generally separated into three size categories: large, standard, and small. Naturally, the larger the bus, the more expensive the rental will be. M&M Limo’s largest passenger party buses can hold up to 45 passengers while our smaller buses and sprinter vans can hold up to 14 people.
It’s also important to note that a party bus doesn’t always require a party. Sometimes, corporate businesses will hire our limo bus services to transport large groups of employees, especially if they reside in a different state without means of transportation.
M&M Limo’s Party Bus Price Breakdown
Type of Limo Bus |
Number of Passengers |
Price |
Mercedes Sprinter Limo Van | Up to 14 Passengers | Starting from $110/hour |
Limo Party Bus | 22 Passenger | Starting from $165/hour |
Limo Party Bus | 29 Passenger | Starting from $176/hour |
Limo Party Bus | 36 Passenger | Starting from $187/hour |
Limo Party Bus | 45 Passenger | Starting from $220/hour |
2. Pricing by the Hour
As you can see from the chart above, the cost of a limo party bus rental is dependent on how large it needs to be, which depends on the number of people traveling and the duration you need it for. The more people that are traveling and partying, the bigger and more expensive the party bus will be.
Most limo companies require a four-hour minimum, which can be inconvenient for some party-goers who only need a bus for a short period. At M&M Limo, our rates are based on three hours of service, plus you’ll receive additional discounts if you exceed four hours. Keep in mind that these special rates are valid Monday through Thursday, as Friday and the weekend days are subject to peak pricing and availability.
3. Party Bus Amenities & Features
The amenities a party bus offers will also affect the rental cost. Typically, the more amenities a party bus has, the more expensive it will be. However, at M&M Limo, we want all of our customers to get the most out of their party bus experience, no matter the size of your party.
Here is a comparison of the amenities in our smallest limo versus our largest one:
Mercedes Sprinter Limo Van | Limo Party Bus |
Up to 14 Passengers
2019 or Newer AM/FM/CD/DVD/TVs Bluetooth Compatible Sound System Fiber Optic Mood Lighting Service Bar with Insulated Coolers Alcoholic Beverages (Upon Request)* Complimentary Ice and Bottled Water |
Up to 45 Passengers
2019 or Newer AM/FM/CD/DVD/TVs Bluetooth Compatible 5000 Watt Sound System Fiber Optic Mood Lighting Laser Lights and Strobe Lights Service Bar with Insulated Coolers Alcoholic Beverages (Upon Request)* Complimentary Ice and Bottled Water |
The only advantage that our 45-person limo party bus offers over the Mercedes Sprinter Limo Van is the laser lights and strobe lights.
4. Geographic Location
When you’re getting from point A to point B, the time and gas it takes in between will affect the final cost of a party bus limo rental. For example, at M&M Limo, our rates depicted above do not apply if the trip is more than 40 miles from downtown Chicago. It’s important to keep in mind your geographic location when choosing a party bus rental company.
5. Availability & Season
Weekends, holidays, vacation breaks, and other seasonal events will affect the costs of a party bus rental due to their popular demand. In planning a wedding, most venues will offer incentives or discounts for weddings in the “off-season”, limo companies work very similarly. If you’re having your wedding in the heart of May during the time of prom and graduation, you can expect the costs of a party bus limo to be significantly more expensive than if you were to book one in mid-January.
Additional Costs
There may be some additional costs that come with booking a party bus limo to keep in mind. For example, taxes and gratuity are not included in M&M Limo’s pricing breakdown, just like any other business. If you plan on serving alcoholic beverages, there may be extra charges as well.
Pro Tip: M&M Limo recommends booking a party bus limo at least 8 weeks in advance to secure the lowest price possible, especially in peak times.
